I was in Oxford from 1961 to 66 and I met Gordon several times for short spells, at meetings and visits to Oxford. He always remembered me, (my Spanish provenance, J.T.'s countryman, etc) and I always remembered him as a very pleasant, witty and full of common sense converser. We always managed long, non professional, conversations which have remained in my mind since. How sad, another good friend gone. Gini, we did not meet, but my wife Elizabeth and I send you our love.

Happy memories of our years together in Oxford. How lucky we are that we kept in touch despite being at opposite sides of the world. Mac in particular has wonderful memories of working with such a great colleague who was the consummate Doctor. He will be sadly missed. Deepest sympathy the Gini, Carolyn, Johnathon and all the family. With love, Sue & Mac

Professor Gordon Hunter was a cherished colleague and friend. He was an inspirational teacher when I was his resident many years ago. I greatly enjoyed his dry wit. His teaching skills taught us a great deal about medicine and life. I still quote his memorable lines often, and mentioned him by name in the OR last week.
I will miss him very much but am grateful for knowing this fine man.

Dear Gini, Gorden and I were nearly colleagues at Oxford, when I was finishing my residency there (1969-71), but had numerous contacts over the years that I was at Johns Hopkins (1971 - 2011) and at orthopaedic meetings and GOS meetings. He was a lovely gentle, considerate caring man. Our sincere condolences to you. best, David and Heide Hungerford
