Obituary of Isobel Moon MD

MOON, ISOBEL DAVIDSON M.D JUNE 30, 1921 - MAY 24, 2015 Dr. Moon was born and educated in Toronto. Isobel attended the Bishop Strachan School and entered Medicine at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1945. After post graduate study in Canada and in England, she practiced Medicine briefly in Winnipeg and then returned to Toronto to enjoy several decades of active practice as a member of the staff at Women's College Hospital. In 1988 she retired to the century home she had restored in Niagara-on-the-Lake, sharing the pleasure of the area with family and with friends. Membership in the University Women's Club of Toronto contributed greatly to those retirement years. Predeceased by her parents, Charles Osborn Moon and Martha Elizabeth Davidson Moon and her eldest nephew Lloyd Charles Harriman. She is survived by her sister Ruth Frances Banko (Mrs. J.C) whose children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were much loved by their aunt. Cousins survive in Canada and abroad. Isobel was increasingly aware of the deep sense of gratitude she felt for the friendships of a lifetime. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
