GOODMAN, Virginia Anne (nee Lumbers) (November 28, 1938 - October 21, 2011) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, October 21, 2011 after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her adored children Cynthia Evans (Mark) and Douglas Goodman (Paddy), her dear sister Elizabeth Chubb and brother Leonard George Lumbers Jr. (Janet), and her cherished grandchildren Chloë and Olivia Evans, and Gardiner, William and Graydon Goodman. Gini also leaves behind her nephews Christopher (Janet) and Timothy (Melanie) Chubb, Leonard and Michael Lumbers, and many very dear and cherished cousins and friends who have provided her with such wonderful love and support over the years. Predeceased by her parents Frances Gardiner Lumbers (1984) and Leonard George Lumbers Sr. (1994). Gini put family and friends above all else, and enjoyed life to its fullest during her brave 12-year fight with cancer. She will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her so dearly. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary staff of doctors, nurses and personal care workers who so compassionately cared for her during her final weeks at Kensington Hospice in Toronto, as well as to the many doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital and the team at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. A funeral service will be held at GRACE CHURCH-ON-THE-HILL, 300 Lonsdale Road, Toronto on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2 o'clock, followed immediately by a reception at The York Club, 135 St. George Street. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
