Obituary of Gertrude Cira

CIRA, GertrudePeacefully, after a brief illness, on July 26, 2008, Gertrude Cira in her 93rd year, beloved wife of the late Peter Cira and daughter of the late Tony and Agnes Scotch. Lovingly cherished by her son Joseph and his wife Anne and her daughter Elena and her husband Robert Drury. Lovingly remembered as "Nonna" by her grandchildren Ryan and Kristina Drury. Fondly remembered by Joseph Cira, Vincent and Eleanor Cira, Charles and Yolanda Cira, Joseph and Dorothy Polito, Margaret Calderone, Dolly Bellissimo and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Mary and Jack Sgarlata, Salvadore and Irene Cira, John and Agatha Altilia, Helen Cira, Frank Calderone, Russell and Lillian Barreca and Joseph and Sylvia Spalla. Special thanks to the staff of North York General Hospital and her caregivers, Nancy, Marilyn and Marie. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30 in BLESSED TRINITY CHURCH, 3220 Bayview Avenue followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
