Obituary of Sheila Devereaux

Sheila Agatha Devereaux December 2, 1934 - May 6, 2015 Died peacefully of cancer at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Sheila, beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Elsie Devereaux, is survived by loving sister Dianne McDermott (Barry), and has been a caring Aunt to Patrick, Alan and Laura. She is predeceased by sisters Joan Marsh (Herb), Barbara Mawson (Roy), and brother Desmond (Naureen). She is lovingly remembered by extended family and closest friend Dina MacPhail, as well as Stuart, Aidan and Spencer Barnes. Sheila graduated in Nursing from St. Michael's Hospital. As a well respected Adoption Worker at the Catholic Children's Aid Society for 35 years, she displayed an endless dedication to placing children into good homes. Always one to make people feel welcome, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11. The funeral service will take place in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
