Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers in supporting us during this time of deep sorrow. Elizabeth Gail West was a loving wife, mother grandmother, sister, aunt, good friend and proud Canadian. David and Gail lived a modest life guided by simple but core Christian values of integrity, honesty, family, friends and charity. They lived a humble and enviable lifestyle where everyone was treated equally and with respect. Gail lived her life with a genuine interest in family, extended family and friends – she never forgot anything about our family or friends. She always followed up on how everyone was doing whether it was a pregnancy, illness, operation, graduation, marriage or any monument in a life shared she genuinely cared about all of us. Her network of friends from Peru, Florida, and her Bridge Clubs were a big part of her life and social network and held those friendships dearly. A few years ago we all visited Dawson city Yukon this was a lifelong dream for Gail. She was surrounded by family and truly enjoyed every minute. After her trip to Dawson City the only place she wanted to visit was Springford, in southern Ontario. This was the site of her dad’s family farm where she would visit as a young girl. In 2014 she did visit the old homestead with family and enjoyed a drive around the country side reminiscing about her childhood visits. You never feel you have time to properly say good bye and we know this will trouble most of us for a while. Maybe when she was so ill two years ago and she recovered so well, that was God’s way of giving us two more years with her in very good health and we are grateful for that time. I think we have all learned from Gail that we should call a little more often, hug a little bit longer and love a little bit deeper. On behalf of Meg, Stephanie and our family Thank you all again for your support, fellowship, and love during this difficult time. From all of us Gail, we bid you good bye for now, we love you, we will miss you dearly but we will remember you fondly. God Bless. Gail’s Family

Stephanie, Kevin, Sean, Liam, Ryan & Meg, I am so sorry for your unexpected loss. I will be praying for you all from Calgary as you celebrate the life of your Mom (and Nana) today. I have such fond memories of her playing cards at the kitchen table while we either sunbathed, or planned a party for that evening, or the roadtrip to New York City, the weekend of Steph's wedding. I have so many good memories of the West family and Gail was always the steady presence of calm and reason and comfort of simply always being there. May God's love be particularly felt today and the days ahead. Love, Cher
