Obituary of Edit Paradi

PARADI, Edit Passed away peacefully at the Revera Leaside Retirement Home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in her 96th year. The Paradi family immigrated to Canada in 1957 from their native Hungary. "Edit Néni," as she was called by everyone, was married for 58 years to her beloved husband József who predeceased her. Loving mother of her two sons Joseph and his wife Monika (nee Letzin), George and his wife Judy (nee Széchényi). Cherished grandmother of Joseph A. Paradi and his wife Beth (nee Gretler), David R. Paradi and his wife Sheila (nee Stewart), Karri Paradi and husband Peter Maropakis and her youngest grandson Alexander Paradi and his wife Susan Larkin. She adored her great-grandchildren: Andrew, Laura, Sophie, Samantha, Jamie, Benjamin and Spencer. She will be greatly missed by her friends from ice skating, a sport which she and her husband enjoyed well into their 70's; and by her compatriots and their many children born in Canada. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from noon on Friday, April 24, 2015. The service will take place at one o'clock in the Chapel, to be followed by her interment in the family plot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
