Dear Sandra, Michael, and David, We are saddened to hear of your mother's passing. We spent quite a bit of time together as next door neighbours on Welland and we enjoyed Sheila's company. She was always fun to be around and had a positive attitude. We were amazed by her knowledge and love of sports. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Elizabeth & John

I was saddened to read about Sheila . That was a lovely picture of a friend I had not seen for years. We were classmates at Havergal College, I remember her smile ,and how her hair curled softly about her face. Sheila was soft spoken herself and a joy to have as a seatmate in homeroom ! I have sweet memories of Sheila Nancy Bongard

Sheila was one of the bravest people I have ever known. Sheila and her mother met me at the train when I arrived from Winnipeg almost 60years ago to start nurses´ training at The Hospital for Sick Children. she was very helpful and we shared many experiences.
In the last months we lunched together at her residence 4or 5 times. I last talked with her Februeary 15 th before Don and I left for Portugal where we are now. what continued to astound me was Sheila,´s cheerfulness in her final months despite having much pain. Now she richly deserves rest and peace. I shall miss her greatly.

Our condolences to Sandra, Michael and David. We have not met very often, but I and my brothers have fond remembrances and many, many thanks for the care and companionship that Sheila provided for our mother, Edith Anderson, when they were neighbours on Welland Avenue.

I met Sheila in 1947, when we cabined together in 'Mudway' at Glen Bernard camp. Every July for the next 4 years we were cabin mates. In August, I visited her family at their home on Lake Simcoe. We also stayed with Colonel Mason and his family at Chief's Island on Lake Joseph in Muskoka. More recently, we have had our annual berry picking excursion, near my home in Georgetown. I have many fond memories, of our times together.

Leafing through the Globe and Mail on Friday, I was startled to see the photo and death notice for Sheila, who had carried on so well through many health setbacks. She was a great friend to my family, especially to my father Jack Silversides, and, after his death, to me. I had not seen her since we moved out of Toronto years ago, but we had spoken a few times, most recently a few months ago. My condolences to Mike, whom I met, and to Sandra and David, about whom I heard many stories.
