MYERS, Kathleen (Kay) Mary
Born January 15, 1917, died January 13th, 2015, 2 days short of her 98th birthday. Beloved and devoted daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt. Predeceased by her parents Kathleen (nee Foy) and Louis J. Myers, brothers Jack and Louis, sister Joan, sisters-in-law Jay and Helen and nephews Patrick and Michael. Survived by brother Peter Myers and sister-in-law Norma and by her 16 nieces and nephews Judy, Brian, Chris, Ernest, Tony, Karen, David, Gary, Anne Marie, Louie, Arthur, Paul, Bonnie, Peter, Kathleen, and Jimmy, as well as 39 great-nieces and great-nephews. Kay was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. In her long life, she brought a great sense of fun and many happy memories to friends and family. Her health deteriorated following a stroke in 1998, although through determination and courage she miraculously recovered sufficiently to live on her own until she moved to Leaside Residence in 2007 and then to Providence Villa in 2009. Her family are deeply grateful to the staff of Providence Villa who provided such loving care for Kay in her final years, and in particular to Cynthia Bhanu who was her devoted, patient and ever-caring personal assistant for the past five years. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 10:30 - 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 19. A funeral mass will be held in ST. ANSELM CHURCH, 1 MacNaughton Road at Millwood Road on Monday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Providence Villa, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
