Peter had been in my thoughts since I last saw him downtown about 5 years ago. This morning I decided to google his name. Now I am sitting here and crying. If only I had of known back in July. . . .I loved this man. He was so impossible to work for at times, but he taught me so much. I am crying because I was not able to share my grief with those who loved him too. So many memories and now there's no one else to share them with. I recall reciting a poem that was written for his 50th birthday . . . Nifty Fifty. I would love to hear from anyone that would care to reminisce. My sincere condolences to the entire family from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Family members of the late Colonel Peter W. Hunter, It was with great sadness that I learnt from my oldest son Derek of your dear ones’ passing. Four of my family met Colonel Hunter in 2006 when he was guest of honour at the Sherbrooke Hussars when I stepped down as Honourary Colonel. Before that it was with great appreciation that we in Quebec all enjoyed his work with Peter Cameron to preserve many famous Regiments in this province that were slated to be reduced or at worst, eliminated. His actions with Reserve 2000 as well as the RCAC are a high mark for many faithful army personnel. We will all miss his efficiency and compassion. We appreciate your loss and offer our greatest sympathy. From the Veterans and members of the Regiment and my family. T.G. (Garry) Gould

To the Family of Col. Hunter. My name is Linda Parsons, I worked at McConnel Advertising from 1967 until 1972. They were the days that advertising was very exciting. Working with Dave Sutherland, Norton Lumb, Eric Rechnitzer, Bob Neighbour were great days for me. I remember Mr. Hunter asking me to cover for his secretary Elizabeth while she was away. The typewriter that she had was a selectric. The cadilac of typewriters. I had an IBM electric. The thought of working even for a day with Mr. Hunter was a pleasure and I always remember our good times and even the bad times when we lost accounts i.e. General Foods! That was a sad day for all of us. I have always loved advertising and marketing. I left McConnell to have a baby and decided not to return. I reflect on that those quite often and wonder where I would be doing today. I had the opportunity but chose motherhood. I am 66 years old. My husband Ken and I had two daughters. We are grandparents of a 7 year old. Life is good. Thank you Mr. Hunter was the wonderful gatherings in the boardroom, the excitement of being part of a wonderful team of creative people. I will always remember you. Also the gatherings at your farm on Mulock Drive where we had good times. I pass that farm quite often and remember you. My deepest sympathy to your family. What a wonderful career you have had. Blessings, Linda Parsons, Newmarket, Ontario
