Obituary of Ronald Clanfield

Ronald James Clanfield September 15, 1929 - December 14, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ron Clanfield who was able to die at home as was his wish under the compassionate care of the team from Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, Mount Sinai Hospital. Beloved husband of Helen (Archer) for 63 years and loving father to Ronda, Paul and Kathy and friend to sons-in-laws Richard Arnfield and Jim Ranger. Ron proudly worked for many years at ES&A Robinson/DRG. Over the course of his life he had many strong and passionate and varied interests. He raised African violets, tropical fish, was a ham radio operator, loved and doted on his many cats (and all of the neighbour's cats). He was an avid gardener and was known on the street for his tomatoes which many people benefited by, always providing a bumper crop. Ron loved Les Miserables in all of its versions and was an extremely ardent fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Argos. A deeply honourable man, Ron was fiercely loyal to family and friends and was always delightful and energetic and vastly interested in the world around him. Words cannot express the depth of our feelings of loss and how much we will miss our loving and beloved father. He will live in our hearts forever.
