Obituary of Lessy Shulz
SCHULZ, Lessy
Peacefully passed away on December 3, 2014 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Dagobert Schulz (2010). Loving mother of George Lange (Doris) and cherished Omi of Nicholas and Ariana. Survived by her siblings Irma (Gustaf), Leopold (Heidi), Kaete (the late Herman) and Heinz (George). Aunt of Gudrun, Heidi, Ronald, Dorothy, Hardy and Karin.
Lessy was born in Poniec (Punitz), Poland in 1927. Being the first born, she was eventually placed in charge of the family's westward escape from the horrors of the Second World War. After being forced to leave everything behind in the east, they finally started over in postwar Germany.
After her father's untimely death, Lessy decided to emigrate to Canada to start a new life. While working in real estate, she sponsored her mother and two brothers to join her and helped them establish their lives as well. As a determined and hardworking woman, she managed to start her own real estate company, met her husband and together with their son, they built up their own empire.
Lessy was always a very generous person and ready to help anyone in need. She started out with one suitcase, fought against all odds and with her tenacity and dedication left this world as a successful businesswoman and role model for her proud son, daughter-in law and grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at Grace Villa from the bottom of our hearts for all the care and compassion she received during her final years. Special thanks to our friends and family for all of their support and to our friend and neighbor, The Reverend Canon David Linn for officiating the service.
A private family funeral has taken place and her final resting place is at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Thank you Mom and Omi for enriching our lives tremendously.
You will always remain in our hearts.
