March 8th 2015 I was thinking of Ron just now while doing my transcribing of Peter Van Wagner's diary and a little afraid of calling again because of his age, searched for him on the web and learned of his death. Only met Ron in September 2013 when I visited him in Toronto re the Van Wagner fonds. And had called him after finding Peter's internment information in the Hamilton Cemetery. My thoughts and condolences go out to the family. Doug Green UE

Laura and Sheila, we were sad to read about your father's death. I have many happy memories of his cheery greetings and his interest in our family and life in general. He was a true gentleman. I did not know, or had forgotten, that he was at Wanapitei. We have been friends with Carol and Bruce Hodgins for years. Our sympathy to you and your families. Barb and Peter Gilbert

Sheila and Laurie I was very sorry to see that your father had passed away. I am also sorry I cannot attend the service today. Your father truly was a wonderful gentleman. I can still here him calling out to me from behind a bow tie, " hey Lougheed, how are you" when ever I entered a room where he was present. Take care George

Growing up, it was always a Treat, when Ron would stop by our house to pick up his mail. We, as young children, couldn't wait for Ron, as he usually had a yummy tub of Honey Butter for us. He was a Great Man, told Very interesting stories, and an Outstanding Weekend 4Th line resident. He will be truly missed by so many. Thinking of you girls and your families at this sad time.

One of my favorite memories as a child was the annual Hamilton Macfeeters Wilkins Stupart Christmas party where Ron would entertain us with his quick wit and detailed memory. Ron would always have some knowledgable questions lined up for us about school or our sports teams. Memories of Ron and Uncle Doug trading jokes ("what animal keeps the best time? A watchdog!") bring back such warm feelings.
Memories of Ron and Georgian Bay are inextricably bound ... In fact, our favorite family picture that we had framed was taken on the Macfeeters porch in Go Home during one of our summer visits with Sheila and Michael.
We can all hope to live as full and wonderful a life.
Farewell Ron - we miss you. Our heartfelt condolences to everyone in the family.

Shaila, I'm so sorry that your Dad is gone. My condolences to you, Laurie and Michael. Your Dad always greeted me enthusiastically at the Main Dock, genuinely interested in what was happening with the young folk. My Dad was fond of him. They had some good laughs together! Your love for both your parents has always been transparent; whenever I'd see you and get caught up on your news, you always mentioned your parents and how they were doing. You were a tremendous caregiver to both of them. You should feel proud. Good obit. I knew Ron had a zest for life, but didn't know how much till I read all that he accomplished! Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Sheila and Laurie: your dad had a life well lived - to be mourned and celebrated. I will always remember the keen interest your father had in the environment and he kept me on my toes to be current in the latest knowledge so I could answer his questions! He kept a wonderful archive of articles that I know you had to clean out upon moving from the house but the fact he knew where everything was astounded me. I am better for knowing him. hugs to you both, Deb

Henry Glover, my father, was one or Ron's good friends. They both attended North Toronto Collegiate. They often had lunch together at the Board of Trade building in downtown Toronto in the 60's and 70's. I joined them several times and was impressed by Ron's business acumen, sense of humour and of course his collection of bow ties. A life well lived.

I will always remember Ron for his wonderful wit. He entertained all of us at Go Home Bay for many many decades with his clever stories and delightful anecdotes. Ron was a special man, one of those people who was always interested in the what others were doing, a man who cared to always ask what WE were doing rather than the other way around. I will miss him. On behalf of the Lougheed family, we send our condolences to Sheila, Michael and Laurie and all of the MacFeeters clan.

I was sorry to see the announcement of Ron's passing. My father, Geddes Webster, and Ron spent considerable time thinking and scheming about the stock market together. They shared a love of Yonge and St. Clair and Mono Township. I remember Ron and your Mom at our house on Ridge Dr. and our farm at Mono. More than likely I spent time at your property in Mono, as well. I remember your dad as a lovely man. The bow tie, I remember the bow tie! Hopefully Dad and Ron are finally figuring out the market once and for all. Always learning, always thinking. Lovely. My condolences to you all.

Ron was a true and enduring gentleman....a gentleman in the finest sense of the word. His sense of humour and love of life was an inspiration to me and to all who had the good fortune to know him. I always came away with a smile and a memorable greeting or saying or story when I had the pleasure to bump in to Ron. A great canadian and someone who had "Passion Capital" for all good things in life. I will miss you Ron.
