Dear Sheila and family. It was a real pleasure knowing Charlie. We met at Northview Heights at a woodworking course with Bob as the teacher. We made many projects. Charlie also enroled in the art class at Northview. Other woodworkers also painted. Four of us. Charlie made several "masterpieces" as he called them. The painting of the house he grew up in, as well as the cottage fall scene. Master pieces! He allways sat in the back of the class. And was quitly painting his masterpieces. He still painted until about 4 years ago. Unfortunately the driving at night became more problamatic. Charlie and Sheila went to Holland for the Thank You Canada liberation party it was 50 years ago. Charlie was one of the soldiers who liberated Holland. He stayed for awhile after the war, and made friends with the locals. Thanks to all the Canadian Soldiers who liberated Holland. They were the real hero's. And the fallen Canadian soldiers allways will be remembered May 4th. My thought are with you Sheila and your family at this difficult time. Kind regards, Betty Rozema

We were so lucky to have a Grandfather like you, I have so many great memories we shared...teaching me all about art and painting, our pool parties where u made sure all of us grandchildren received an award for our "swimming competitions", and all of your jokes, always making us laugh and smile. You brought so much happiness to so many people, we will miss you so much, I love you Grandpa <3

We lost a very important man. Charles Cann will be remembered as a loving father, brother and grandfather. A man who put everyone else in front of himself; even in his last hours this great man said to his family "Sorry for being like this". I know he will be watching down from above smiling as we live our lives and I will be smiling looking up knowing just this. To say this man was just my grandfather is an understatement. The man was instrumental in who I have become and who I will be.
