Obituary of Ruth Hawes

HAWES, Ruth (nee Mitchell) Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness at Mount Sinai Hospital, on November 20, 2014 at the age of 95. Ruth was the cherished daughter of Kenneth and Agnes Mitchell and the loving mother of John, Michael (Donaleen), and Peter (Kristy). She was also the proud grandmother of Byron, Garrett, Martti, Geoffrey, Trevor, and Kaitlin. She is predeceased by her son David (Cindy) and her two brothers, Claude (Iris) and Jim (Ann), both of Nova Scotia. Ruth was a kind and loving women, and a proud Canadian, who was unwavering in her love and support for her family. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on. A celebration of her life will be held at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, November 26, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
