LEMIEUX, Marilyn Dexter (née Robertson)
1924 - 2014
Marilyn was born in Montreal on December 31, 1924, and died peacefully in Toronto on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Marilyn will be forever in the hearts of her family, Andrea, Marc (Nancy), Owen (Janice), and Christine; grandchildren, Julia (Chris), Ryan, and Heather; and great-granddaughters, Meaghan and Kaitlyn. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Robertson, in 1991 and her grandson Andrew in 1997. She studied architecture at McGill University when the first women in architecture at McGill had entered only the year before she did. In her career as an architect, Marilyn worked in Montreal, Accra, and Toronto. Before retiring she was the assistant superintendent in the Planning and Plant Department at the North York Board of Education. The family would like to thank her private caregivers and the staff at the Meighen Manor (Coombs unit) for their loving and compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 - 4:00 on Wednesday, November 26.
