Andrea/Mike and Sarah...I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She taught me skating for many years. She was a great lady and always thought of others first. I am sorry I won't be able to make it to the funeral, however you will all be in my thoughts during this very difficult time.

Sarah/Mike/Andrea, I want you to know how much I am thinking about you and your entire families. I have very happy memories of your mother - both directly and via my mom who was such a good friend of hers for close to 65 years! Your mother was one of a kind - treasure your lives with and memories of her. For you to have had two such large and painful losses in such a short time is devastating. Please be comforted by all of your parents friends who are with you in thoughts and prayer.

Very saddened to learn that Donnie had passed away, but glad that her family were with her. Donnie always thought of other people, and was a brick for me when my Richard died up here at Lake of Bays. Gene and Donnie looked after me, and I appreciated their caring. Donnie and Gene both lived a full life for others. So I am sure that there kids have good genes to carry the touch like their parents. I am sorry about your loss Sarah, Mike and Andrea. You are now officially the next generation, big moccassons to fill, but I know you will all make your parents proud. God sped til you all meet again. With kind thoughts and respect. Vicky Weaver

It is with great sorrow that I read of Donnie's death. I had so hoped to see her once again after Gene's death but this was not to be. If I was asked to describe the essence of Donnie and her life, it would be a very beautiful lady both in mind, body and soul. I am ever so grateful for the time when she took on my two youngest children while we rushed to sick kids with our oldest son who had a terrible head injury from a diving accident at camp. Donnie aways had a twinkle in her eyes and a big smile for all she knew. She was a very giving person and lived life in a very gracious and full manner. We will all miss her and my prayers and thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

40 years ago,a young girl named Mae Brown graduated from the University of Toronto, the first totally deaf-blind person in the British Commonwealth to do so and the first woman since Helen Keller. I was her teacher, interpreter and guide. For five years, 12 months a year, Donnie brailled all the text books, the lecture and seminar notes, essays and take-home exams required by Mae without which she would never have accomplished her goal. God bless you and your family Donnie. Thinking of you, I give thanks for so much. Lovingly, Joan Mactavish

My heartfelt condolences go to all of you at this time. Donald and I were privileged to know your parents both through John Ross Robertson school activities as well as through the church. Gene was a great support to me at Ewart Angus Homes as was Donnie who also helped make the facility so special. We both admired her work at the CNIB and all the other special involvement she had in our community. We share you heartbreak at this time when your parents both have left so suddenly. Our thoughts are with you Mike and Andrea as our family had special times with you both. Love and our prayers from Carolyn, Donald, Susan and Cameron Smith.
