Obituary of Ernest Smart

SMART, Ernest William It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Ernie Smart on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sunnybrook Hospital. Ernie will be greatly missed by his wife May Smart and his children Helen (Tim), Linda (Frank), John (Suzanne), and by his grandchildren Ryan, Shannon, Brendan and Mark. Ernie's great sense of humour and positive spirit will be missed. Born on June 30, 1929 in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, Ernie came to Canada over 50 years ago. He eventually moved to Scarborough where he worked at Frank Rowland Motors for over 35 years and he was a long standing member at Iondale Heights United Church. Special thanks to all the staff and residents at Thompson House who took extra special care of Ernie. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5. Reception to follow. A Memorial Celebration will be held at Better Living Community Centre at a later date.
