Doreen was a proud member of "Happy Hands" knitting group. She made an enormous contribution to the less fortunate mothers with her craft of crocheting baby blankets, and other fine items that kept many new born warm.

I knew Doreen through her youngest son, Ernest. We met regularly though "Joy Bringers" monthly luncheon. She was a friendly social lady. She had a following of ladies from Old York Tower who came to the luncheon each month. It was interesting, if Doreen didn't come to the luncheon, the other ladies did not show up. As her health failed, she wasn't able to join us. Doreen was a dear friend and I will miss her dearly. God be with you.

I met Doreen though her youngest son. She came to the lunch gathering "Joy Bringers" that was held at the Community of Christ Church. She was fun loving, soft spoken lady, social and enjoyed participating in the fun events each month. A quiet leader in bringing supports from Old York Tower each month. My condolences to the family. I was always amazed at her ability to help others, giving selflessly of yourself even during your own difficulties and failing health.

Doreen was an active participant of our weekly Bible study for several years. She loved the Lord, and the Holy Scriptures. I will always remember her heart felt worship as she belted out the songs of Zion. I pray for her family and friends that they will be at peace knowing that Doreen is at peace in God's presence. We thank God for giving her long life. May her soul rest in peace.

Aunt Doreen was truly a loving and giving person. I spent time with her, Uncle Douggy, Ernest and other family members up at Dora sometimes during my formative years and always felt at home and cared for. I am forever grateful.
