Obituary of Douglas Hartley

Douglas William Hartley Passed away suddenly from cancer on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at age 61. He had family and friends by his bedside. Deeply loved and missed by his only brother James, and by Doug's best friend and life partner Catharine McGregor. Dear cousin to Bob (Barb), Joan, Judy, and Ted, and Western Canada cousins, Robert, Rodney and Nola. Dear nephew of Lennie Perry. Fondly remembered by the Valovich family. Pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Vicky Hartley. Doug was retired (35 years) from Air Canada, and as ground crew enjoyed helping travellers. Doug had a wide community of friends in Leaside, the Bluffs, Air Canada and IAMAW Local 2323. Special thanks for the care provided to Doug by D2 staff of Sunnybrook Hospital. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22. A service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23. Private cremation to follow.
