Obituary of Sylvia Graham
Sylvia Knight Martin Graham
(1932-2012)
Sylvia was a successful author, actress, and artist who has appeared on stage, television, film and was a frequent contributor of humorous skits for theater and newspapers. A Toronto native, Sylvia's visionary spirit lives on in the art piece, Sculpture of the Unknown Student, on which she was a collaborator (currently located in front of the old Roschdale College). Author of the book, What Are You Crying For? I Was The One Hit By The Truck, (Lester and Orpen Ltd.), Sylvia bravely explored the boundaries of creative fiction, while always maintaining her dry humor and sharp wit. Her imaginative genius, impish irreverence, and warm heart clearly resounds in all of her creative contributions. These are a few of the qualities that will be most sorely missed; both by her family and friends, as well as those whose lives she touched through her art. Sylvia is survived by her four children (Anne-Marie, Rick, Kate, and Christine) and five grandchildren (Taylor, Jake, John, Riley, and Sullivan). A private memorial has been planned by the family.
