Obituary of John Kukulewycz

KUKULEWYCZ, John Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital at the age of 87. John is survived by his loving wife Anna (nee Fre uk) and his children Mary (Tony) Kargacin, Bill (Deanne) and the late Michael (Laurie). His joy in life was spending endless summer days at the cottage and with his grandchildren, Christine, Steven, Rachel, John-Ryan, Candace, Andrew, Allison, Matthew and with his great-grandchildren. Thank you to the medical staff at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital and to St. Peter and Paul Residence for their care and support. John was born December 12, 1926 in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1946. Growing up, dad would head out in his suit and tie long before we'd be up, heading to work for a long and exhausting job as a keypunch operator for Frankel Steel to make a better life for his family. He'd return home in the evening to enjoy one sip of cognac before retiring to bed. His steady hands and quick paced skills made him a valuable employee for over 33 years until the company relocated to Milton, ON. The commute proved to be too much and so our dad took an early retirement to focus on taking care of the properties he had purchased over the years with his hard earned savings.
