Obituary of Florence Kennedy
Kennedy (nee Landry), Florence Jacqueline
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Florence Kennedy on the evening of September 24, 2014. With her family by her side, Florence lost her courageous battle with cancer at the age of 73. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband of 51 years James Kennedy and her two daughters, Susan Kennedy (Rob Quinn) and Carol Kennedy (Dr. Keith Evans). She will be deeply missed by her four grandchildren, Elise and Nicholas Heit, and Jessica and Matthew Quinn whom she cherished. She will be lovingly remembered by her only sister Laurice (Doug Woollings) and her two sisters-in-law Peggy Rider (the late Harold) and Meredith Parker (the late John) and all of her wonderful nieces.
Born and raised in the small French community of Cap Pele, New Brunswick, Florence eventually made Toronto home. While raising her family, she re-entered the work force in 1976 and had a long and successful career as a senior bilingual executive assistant with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. She spent her retirement years travelling the world with Jimmy and spending time with her four "grandbabies."
