Obituary of Jeanne Dykes

DYKES, Jeanne (nee Wyndels) At age 92, Jeanne died peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2014 after a brief illness. I, Jennifer, am grateful that I had the opportunity to hold her as she passed on. Jeanne remained clear-minded to the end, asking about her much-loved grandchildren, Jay and Christianne, and her caring son-in-law Milan Then. Predeceased by her beloved James and her five siblings, Constant, Zoe, Raymonde, Dennis and Firmin; Jeanne is survived by a host of nieces and nephews with many of whom she maintained a close relationship throughout her long life. Jeanne loved life and fought many battles to hold on to it. She took great joy in the love of family, friends, and all forms of beauty. She often expressed gratitude to the kind caregivers who helped her live a full life to the end. A service to celebrate Jeanne's life will be held in the chapel of the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES - NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
