Marianne Frazer 'Marni' de Pencier (nee Lithgow) On August 24, 2014, at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Born in 1932, Marni was the adored wife of John and proud mother of Joseph (Veronica Nunn), Jan (Geoffrey Seaborn), Adam (Jane LaMantia), and Michele (Michael Eastmure). Predeceased by her father, James Hector Lithgow, mother, Mizpah Sussex Lithgow, brother, Charles Lithgow (Peggy), and sister, Janet Rodgers (Larry). Loving grandmother of North and Dumaresq de Pencier, Emma, Claire, and Adam Seaborn, Fin and Hannibal de Pencier, and James, Nick, and Patrick Hunter. Marni will be missed by Honor and Michael de Pencier, and several nieces and nephews from the de Pencier, Lithgow, and Rodgers' families. A graduate and Head Girl of the Bishop Strachan School, Marni graduated from Queen's in 1954, and went on to complete an M.A. and Ph.D from the University of Toronto; a decorated scholar, she subsequently held a number of administrative and teaching positions at the university. Marni was indefatigable in every endeavour, be it sports, parenting, learning, projects at her beloved Lake Joseph cottage, refurbishing a house, or helping others; indeed her kindnesses to her many friends, family, and people she interacted with were characterised by a keen attention to their needs and wants.
