Keith had a big and generous heart. I was in business with a partner doing outplacement consulting. My partners father was playing the markets and not doing well. He also had not provided in his will appropriate monies for his wife. My partner Aileen was at wits end. So I said leave it to me I know someone who can help. Who else but Keith. I called and he said no problem. He had sold his business but was in the process of showing the new owner around.. They both met with my partners parents in private for abouit an hour. The father came out of the meeting saying everything had been fixed up and his kids were not to interfere anymore period. Keith and his new owner had done the trick the will was updated and the investments directed into a stable and productive investment program. All the family gave a big sigh of releif..I will rememeber this worthy deed by Keith the rest of my life. He was a compassionate man besides being a good golfer. This year my partners dad died. All the finances with the coverages for the widow`worked out as planned thanks to Keith. God Bless.

I remember Keith best (other than being our President) as the booster and quite possibly the founder of the Rotary Scottish/Canadian Golf exchange. Keith hosted a Rotary Dinner to celebrate the Canadian hosting of a team...and to welcome us as the new participants of the "incoming" Scottish-Canadian Rotary Golf Team" the next year. As President of the downtown Toronto Rotary Branch, Keith had been the cheerleader for participating in this wonderful exchange with Scottish Rotarians. I was convinced to give it a try and it was everything Keith had promised. We made lifelong friends in Scotland after hosting and being hosted. I shall always be grateful for Keith's encouragement and for his service to Rotary.

Keith was a great friend and supporter of mine while I was at Spectrum. Later, I enjoyed the chats we had during coffee hour at Timothy Eaton. Such a lovely person and a true gentleman. I am so glad to have known him. My sincerest condolences to Mary and the family.

Re: Keith Glen Howard Many years ago when I was a sports coach, Keith -- I hadn't met him before -- invited me to the cottage on the Credit River in Terra Cotta to talk about a running plan for his son. He said he was related to some Steens in Vancouver. "I'm from Vancouver," I said. Over the next few minutes a delightful coincidence unfolded: it turned out that Keith and I could boast having the same Great Grandmother Graham. We suddenly had lots to talk about. He seemed so bright and interested in the well-being of others. I didn't see much of him in the following years, but I will always remember how he made me feel so welcome. David Steen

I was saddened to learn the passing of Keith. He was a true gentleman and symbolized the best of humanity. I had the pleasure of getting to know him through Rotary. Keith was wonderful Rotarian and will be greatly missed. The best way of honouring him would be for Rotarians and others to continue his work for a better world. My deepest condolences to Keith' family.

Mary: We mourn the loss of a fine man and a very good friend. The last time we saw Keith was in Victoria when he dropped in on us to relate how, as a youngster, many years ago, he had delivered newspapers to the very house we lived in. We retain the warmest memories of Keith, and offer our most sincere condolences.
