We will always remember how Peggy and Edwin looked after us and my parents during our many transits of Montreal in the 60's and 70's. Peggy spent so much of her life looking after and nursing others yet she always found time to be there for us. God bless you Peggy.

I have known Peggy since her marriage to brother Edwin in1951.
For many years Peggy and Edwin lived near the highway we travelled to the Reid homestead in N.B. When I travelled back and forth to the family farm, I most always dropped in to Edwin's and Peggy's home for a meal and a chat which consister mostly with bringing Peggy up to date on family matters. Peggy and Edwin were always interested in the family's welfare.
Around 1976, after I married Eddy (Betty) Mejias ,a Venezuelan, we had an additional incentive to visit as Betty speaks Spanish. This gave Peggy a chance to chat in their native tongue and to share news about South America. Betty after meeting Peggy fell in love with her and the feelings were mutual.
Peggy had a special interest in chrildren. In 1980, Betty visited Peggy with her 4 year old Spanish speaking Nephew, Gabrielito. Peggy made Gabrielito feel at home with her singing, story telling and readings, especially at bedtime. Peggy for many years contributed to Gabriel's and his mother's welfare with a generous US check annually.
When Peggy moved to her and Paul Serson's home on the Rideau River, Peggy and Paul often invited us over to enjoy conversation, drinks and a wonderful meal. Peggy always had freshly made bread as part of the meal.
Peggy contributed to our lives in many positive ways. Peggy will be sadly missed.
Adios, querida amiga y cunada,
Betty and Ian.

To Peggy's loving family, I would like to offer the Jackson/Gledhill/Lefebvre's deepest sympathies to each of you. Peggy was everything family and friends. As Mom and I knew through the years in TMR, there were very few of your family gatherings that she would not include us in on. I am so sorry for your loss, she most certainly was, an extraordinary lady. Love Margaret Ann (as she would call me).

It's been a very long time. About 50 years! Hope you remember me! I just read about the passing of your mom. I was saddened to read the news but it did bring back so many fond memories of our childhood days back to Mitchell Ave in TMR. Becky, you would probably be the one to remember me as we were good friends and I spent many a day in your house. Your mom was wonderful.I can just smell her baked rhubarb pies, pumpkin pies and other goodies she used to make for my family. I remember scraping my knee and running to your mom, cause no one was home at my house. Amazing how the years go by so quickly. I only wish you all the strength at this most difficult time. May you be spared further sorrow. Marilyn (Rabinovitch)

I met Peggy shortly after she arrived in Ottawa having married Paul Serson who was not only a noted Geophysicist but also a viola player with an immense knowledge of classical chamber music. I was the cellist in a quartet that met every Sunday morning for a decade at Paul's home overlooking the Rideau River. We played a lot of Beethoven, and especially the late quartets. Our reward was a delicious lunch (often a poached salmon) provided by Peggy, a superb cook. Then the conversation flowed around the dining room table like quicksilver. Those are wonderful memories. After Paul died I would meet with Peggy quite often (over a sherry!) and we would launch into some extraordinary conversations. She often began as though already half-way through a sentence and I had to quickly catch the drift of her thoughts. The results were conversations that ranged widely from family, to music, to literature, to the latest ideas in science. She was a vivacious lady interested in every aspect of the human condition. After her move to Toronto we initially kept in touch by telephone but as her hearing deteriorated we had to postpone our conversations until I could visit Toronto. Fortunately I was able to make my final visit last May. Peggy has a permanent place in my heart and memories. She was a wonderful, vibrant lady whom I will miss greatly. I extend my condolences to her family. Professor David Gardner
