I grew up in Penn Yan, NY, more specific on West Lake Rd. which happens to be on one side of beautiful Keuka Lake, one of the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY. Dr. Mikk and his family lived 4 houses down from us. Their home was upon a hill surrounded with numerous trees and shrubs, quite lovely. Dr. Mikk made numerous house calls to not only my immediate family, but to many many people in Penn Yan. I believe the building in which he had his office was called the Foster & Hatch Medical Building-located on Main Street.
Doctors, to me are in a class all their own, basically giving up most of their life in order to keep others healthy and alive. It was Dr. Mikk's dedication to his profession, the compassion and concern he had for not only his patients, but humanity as well, that I will always rememeber. It was a pleasure to have had him as a neighbor and as our family Doctor.
Thinking of all family members at this time, so amazing that he almost made it to 100!!!
