Obituary of Frederick Hiley
HILEY, FREDERICK STEPHEN
Frederick Stephen Hiley, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away in the evening of July 20th, 2012 at the age of 64. Much loved husband of 40 years to Marjorie (nee Gold); beloved father to Jocelynne; son of Eleanor Hiley; brother of David (wife Gaile and daughter Kathleen), Robert (wife Patti and children - Alana(husband Rob and son Jackson), Robert and Derek; Jim (wife Judy and children - Liz (husband Tyler) and Trish; and nephew of Lorraine Carstead and John and Isobel Hiley (and their children John, Bernie, Richard, Colin and Margaret and numerous cousins). Predeceased by his father Frederick Staples Hiley and his uncle Verd Carstead. Steve was an urban planner by profession and worked for the City of North York and the City of Toronto before joining Canadian Pacific Limited where he worked for nineteen years as a land developer. He loved to cook and enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends. He was an avid golfer and long time member of Meadowbrook Golf Club. He enjoyed his golf games in Florida and Puerto Vallarta. He was the Chair of the Board of Directors of St. Margaret's Towers, a not for profit housing corporation. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2012 between 7 and 9 pm at Murray Newbigging Funeral Home at 733 Mount Pleasant Road Toronto. A service of Celebration will be held at Eglinton St. George's United Church at 35 Lytton Blvd Toronto on Thursday August 2, 2012 at 11 am.
