The "Man" next door (Dan the Man) was my neighbour at the Strathroy Medical Clinic for many years. Dan was the pharmacist extraordinaire that provided the very best service to all of his many patrons. Customers I frequented always had glowing praise for such a dedicated individual that treated his profession like he treated his guests, with utmost respect and humility. I have many fond memories of Dan and Ann working as the tag teaming duo next door but it goes deeper than that. I think the first interaction between the Maruokas and Wongs was through the Strathroy skating club. I was an instructor and Julie was such a brilliant competitor. Although I wasn't her instructor, there was plenty of interaction and skating jargon with Ann and the Man. Neil was probably my first wife's brightest pupil at Our Lady Immaculate and she talked about this wonder kid often. We ALL knew how much Dan loved to golf and I can't tell you how appreciative I was to have been invited to go on a few of the pharma tour stops at Cedarbrae in NE Toronto. It was always a grand day and it was special just being part of it with the Man. Unfortunately we didn't get to golf as often as we would have both liked because he couldn't just take off and go at the drop of a hat like others. His swing will forever be etched in my memory bank ... let's just call it a modified (shorter) version of Charles Barkley! To Ann, Julie and Neil ... please accept the Clinic Clan's deepest condolences on the passing of your father "Dan THE Man".
