CHARTERS, Kenneth William
1919 - 2014
Peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Wyndham Manor in Oakville in his 94th year. A long-time resident of East York in Toronto. Married for 62 years, predeceased by his wife Lynn (nee McLaren) 5 years earlier in 2009. He will be missed by his daughter Christine (Rick) Ellas, his son Bruce (Allison) and his grandchildren Madison, Shannon and Ethan. Also will be missed by his brother Donald (Pauline). Ken was born in Toronto on December 22, 1919 to parents Morris and Dorothea (nee Self). He entered the family printing and engraving business, M. C. Charters & Company of Toronto, and with his brother Don, they continued the business their father started in 1922. For many years Ken was involved with the Engraved Stationary Manufacturers Association and had served as a past president. He was also an avid golfer and a life time member of Scarboro Golf and Country Club. Many thanks for the care and comfort provided by the staff of Wyndham Manor in Oakville.
