I was in the company of Sheila on only a few occasions over the last ten years. The best of those were the times when I was an overnight guest in her home. She was a most kind and gracious host. The conversations we had kindled a small but lasting affection. That feeling was palpable through the last day I saw her on one of her several visits to see Mark, Melody, Rowen , Ethan, and Shawn in Thunder Bay. She made these visits at the cost of great effort and discomfort as her health was steadily declining. Such was her dedication to her family in the north. Her passing leaves me with warm and bittersweet memories of this most talented and loving woman. May I express my sorrow at this loss for Jeff, Mark, and all the family, friends and care givers. A life well lived! Barry Wolframe

Sheila was a woman of great grace, generosity and dignity. Her kindness to me, as the other grandmother was extraordinary. She will be greatly missed by the grandsons, Rowan and Ethan who had fun with Nana even when she was wheelchair bound. My deepest condolences to Mark and Melody, Rowan, Ethan, Jeff and Laurie and the rest of Sheila's family. Special feelings for Leila and the other caregivers who assisted Sheila in her later years.

I got to know Sheila briefly - and unfortunately, mostly after her struggles with PSP had begun. Even then, I could see how determined and strong she was. She always made me feel welcome and I enjoyed our little visits. She came to my wedding despite having to be carried up a flight of stairs; she wasn't about to miss out on life or give up and I've always respected that. My condolences to her family and all those who loved her. She will be missed.

I have known Sheila Nadir for about 27 years, as a result of becoming a neighbor of her son Mark in 1985. She helped me to attend Mark's wedding, which I otherwise would have missed. Sheila was a truly good person. I was also impressed by her strength in dealing with the terrible illness which afflicted her in her final years. She continued to travel, to Thunder Bay Ontario and to Clearwater Florida, and to make the most of her life despite all difficulties.

I did not know Sheila well or for very long. When her son married my mother I had some limited time with her and was hugely impressed and affected by her love and caring for her husband who was struggling with his health at the time. Sheila struck me as a very strong woman - the kind I have deep respect for. I'm glad that in her final days she had her family supporting her in the same way she had previously supported her husband. My condolences to her family left behind and hope that her strength will be always remembered.
