Auntie Anne was a thoughtful, kind and gentle spirit who will be sorely missed. One of the happiest memories I have of Auntie Anne was from a visit to Fenelon Falls, where Dindin and Papa lived, when I was very young. Auntie Anne and Dindin took seemingly endless turns reading The Goldbug book with me. More recently, at each of our meetings, Auntie Anne always took the time to mention that she would pray for me. Auntie Anne was a deeply caring person and I was always touched by her presence. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to her family in this most difficult time.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Anne Cornish. To me, she was Auntie Anne, a revered figure that loved and was loved by many. I have known Auntie Anne to be one of the kindest, most caring people who possessed an infectious serenity. The many joy-filled memories of times spent with Auntie Anne and Uncle Harold will be forever cherished. I extend my deepest condolences to members of the family and friends. With deepest sympathy.

I first met Auntie Anne and Uncle Harold in Nov of 1970. Tom brought me to meet them when I was in Toronto for the Royal Winter Fair. I was somewhat nervous about the meeting as I knew from Tom how special she and Uncle Harold were to him. We were invited for brunch and mass after. This was the beginning of our relationship. From our first meeting I was touched by Auntie Anne's loving and welcoming way. She was the most gracious, beautiful, and elegant woman, always thoughtful and kind. I admired, respected and most of all loved her. We had many wonderful times together, weddings, births, and christenings. But I think some of the most memorable for me, would be us together, in the kitchen, preparing a meal and laughing ourselves silly. No one else could figure out what was so funny! I will remember forever her wonderful laugh, beautiful smiling face and warm embrace. My dearest wish is she and Uncle Harold are now together, forever, and continue to watch over all of us with their love. They were the most wonderful gift for our family and we will treasure their memory always. With much love, Ann Swan

Dear Auntie Anne,
I shall always remember you as loving and talented, a hard worker, you persevered and you were a fast learner.
You were also the most spiritual, unselfish person I have known and each time after being with you I went away feeling better about myself or my family.
I shall always fondly recall your words about Uncle Harold—"The first time I met him", you told me, "I knew he was the one."
I will always remember your wonderful cooking, in particular your magnificent spaghetti and meatballs.
Your appetite and appreciation for good food and your fondness for a martini before supper were a joy to behold.
I will always admire your fitness and flexibility and how active you kept yourself after life at Sears with bridge, bowls, dancing, walks…
And amidst your busy schedule you still made time to go to church every day, to visit the sick and infirmed, to help teach high school kids bowls at the Moore Park Tennis Club and at the end of the day to pray for all of us at night by your bedside.
I will always cherish your warm smile and your joyful laugh.
All these things and so much more I shall always remember, but what I shall miss most of all are your hugs. Auntie Anne, you gave the best hugs!
All My Love as You Re-unite with Unc today and Love to all Family and Friends who Loved You and Remember You as Much or More than I.
Willy
