Obituary of Stavros Spirakos

SPIRAKOS, Stavros Passed away peacefully in Toronto on Friday, May 9, 2008 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Panagiota. Loving father of Penny and Spiros (Georgina). Cherished grandfather of Dimitra and Panagioti, Stephen, Peter and Alexandra. Stavros will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Stavros was born in Sparta, Greece and immigrated to Canada in the late l950's. He was the owner of Steve's Barbershop (Lansdowne and Bloor) for over 40 years. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A. W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 5 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 11th. The funeral will take place in ALL SAINTS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 222 Burbank Drive on Monday, May 12 at 11:00 o'clock. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Sick Children's Hospital, 525 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 1X8.
