TOD, EDNA JUNE (nee Wright)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna June Tod on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Beloved wife of James Alexander Tod who passed away in 1991, loving mother to Ian and his wife Mary, Phil and Chris, devoted grandmother to Lesley and her husband Greg, and Brian. Edna will be remembered for the love of her family and her many friends. The second youngest of seven children, Edna was born in Kemptown, near Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia on June 2, 1920. Always an excellent student, after a business education Edna became the secretary to a prominent Nova Scotia member of the Canadian Senate. She met her husband and the love of her life, Jim, in Halifax where he was stationed during the war and they married in Ottawa on July 20, 1946. Edna and Jim lived in both Ontario and Quebec raising their three boys. Frequent summer trips to Nova Scotia were a highlight. Edna loved to play bridge and was a member of many bridge clubs. For the past few years Edna has been under the excellent care of Frances Valliere, Theresa Joseph and their colleagues, as well as the staff at The Donway Place. She had a wonderful life and will be missed by us all. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W.
