Obituary of Mary Margaret Larkin

LARKIN, Mary Margaret Born May 23, 1919 in Ottawa to Charles Gilhooly and Mathilda (Moran) Gilhooly, and died in Toronto on Monday, May 5, 2014 encircled in love by her children. Our mother Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth E. Larkin and by her daughter Peggy Larkin Brown, as well as her three brothers. Survived by her children Sheila (Bill Wilcox), Ann (Bill Deluce), Catharine (Herb McGroarty), Deborah (Paul Sherren), Michael (Dale), Christine (Bruce Heagle), and Patricia (Jonathan Geisler). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Kelvin, Peter, Adam, Ashley, David, Aynsley, Dana, Lindsey, Andrew, Christine, Allison, Kathryn, Jillian, Jeffrey, Erin, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Adam, Matthew, Barrett and Jeremy, and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, Alex, Johnny, Emma, Teddy, Sabine, Billy, Liam, Audrey, Brooklyn and Lochlan. We thank her caregivers Carolina, Melody and Khazel for their compassion and kindness, as well as Dr. Ashley Verduyn and the staff at Houses of Providence. Always a woman of style and grace, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother taught each and every one of us the true meaning of love, respect and family. She truly was young at heart and her gorgeous smile, incredible sense of humour and kindness will always be remembered by all that knew her. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8 in BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH, 24 Cheritan Avenue, Toronto. If desired, donations may be made to Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence.
