Obituary of Eric Giordano

Eric Patrick Giordano Businessman, Entrepreneur, and Dedicated Family Man Eric passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in his 68th year with his wife, brother and business partner by his side. He fought a courageous fight against cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Pasquale (Pat) and Eleanor. He was blessed to have a devoted and caring wife and partner, Debbie for 20 years. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Bob (Nancy); daughters Maria (Herb), Barbara (John), Michelle, Sarah (Larry) and Melissa (Mike); grandchildren Andrew, Taylor, Christina, Sarah, Laura and Carolyn Grace, Joseph and Ava; brother-in-law Andy Kusma and family; cousins Sandra (Baldwin), John, Danny, Terry and Leo; aunts and uncles Eva, Dorothy and Bud; nieces and nephews Robert (Jennifer), Bradley (Victoria), Brandie (Michelle); best friend Tony and his wife Carol; business partner and friend Charlie and his wife Connie; caregiver and friend Janet. Eric was born and raised in Cabbagetown and moved to Scarborough as a teenager. He was always self-motivated and moved to a beautiful home in Leaside where he raised his family. They moved to Schomberg and Eric eventually came back to Toronto. He enjoyed being with family and friends. When Eric walked into a room, bar or restaurant, he would be sure to know someone or to be recognized by others. He loved to spend time in the Buckhorn area where he and Debbie spent many hours fishing. He was a mentor to many and was not afraid to give advice. He lived life and will be truly missed. Eric founded Belvedere Home Improvements over 40 years ago and had a gift of surrounding himself with capable people. He will be missed by staff and friends Maurice, Don, Rod, Jay and office manager Miriam. The family extends special thanks and appreciation to the professional and compassionate staff in ICU at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in ST. ANSELM CHURCH, 1 MacNaughton Road (at Millwood Road) on Monday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery.
