To our Canadian Cousins - Lois was one of the greatest ladies on the planet! She did a pretty good job on her children as well. Our family has 2 sets of fond, wonderful memories of Lois, Bruce and your family. First, when we and you all were kids and the Macdonalds would come to visit "down the shore" [as we say in New Jersey], and we got to know you all. Second, when the first cousins, Lois, Dottie Dolan and Ginnie McCabe Riley would organize family reunions, which kept us all in touch throughout the years and were terrific fun. Lois was a very unique and special person with inordinate humor, charm, depth, and good advice. In short, a great descendant of Patrick McCabe and a family treasure who will be very missed by all your relatives in New Jersey.

Lois Macdonald was a warm, generous person who was a very dear friend to my late mother, Jane, and the whole Dare family. I particularly remember her wonderful laugh and the many good times we shared with the Macdonalds over the years. Lois and the dignified, witty General Bruce Macdonald were so clearly devoted to one another. My thoughts are with you as you celebrate the life of a lovely lady.

My Condolence to your family but wonderful to hear of her long life. I know of Lois from the late sixties and early seventies who was the closest friend my mother had during very difficult times for her and my family. Lois helped to keep my mom going, feeling connected to the world, trying to keep my mom part of life. A very generous person, who could have easily turned her eyes away, it could not have been easy. Cheers, to James.. Bill Dare, Ottawa

The Dolan family had many wonderful times with Lois and Bruce. My parents, John and Dorothy, enjoyed many family reunions with them. Lois had a very full and rich life and was always a great source of joy for my mother, her cousin. We hope that you have many wonderful memories of her to share with family and friends for years to come.
