To the Grant Family.... In your living you will not hear his voice again but in your hearts it's echo will be endless. You are in my prayers and in my heart. Bert F. Grant has left us the insignia of a Loving Heart ! He brought out the truth in the saying "To do what you love and to love what you do, will make it seem like you never worked a day in your life". In the 24+ years working with Bert F. Grant and his son Bert A. Grant I very quickly realized he was the personification of a "Family Man" and I'm honoured to have known him - a true Gentleman in manner and a Humanitarian Employer. The Bert F. Grant I had the honour to know sowed seeds of kindness along his life's path and I have no doubt he will now enjoy a Perpetual Harvest. We will miss him very much. May he rest in Peace !!

My thoughts and prayers to the Grant family. I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Grant at Applewood. Your family already knows what special person Mr. Grant was, I'm glad I was able know the same. Tonight when you look up, don't think of them as stars. Think of them as Porch lights welcoming your loved one safely home. Thoughts of peace to the Grant Family. Eleanor Watters

Grant Family - Only got the news about BF when I arrived in Florida Thursday to drive Dad and Tomoko back to Toronto. We only just arrived this afternoon (Monday). Also unfortunately Randy is in China and Linda & Charlie are in UK. On the drive back my Dad told many stories of BF and their relationship together. I also remember him as one of my first employers when he and brother Bill would come by one of the many properties I was working on (cutting lots of grass) and always asking if I needed anything and if the equipment was in good shape. He always had nothing but positive things to say. I'm so glad Nancy, Tammy and Sam were able to attend to represent the Rice / Parker clan. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt sympathy, we know he will be truly missed. Be well, Craig, Nancy & Jill

To: Bert A. Grant & Family From: Sheila Gallagher Dear Bert, I was very sad to see in the Globe that your dear old Dad had recently died. What a wonderful man and such a special person he was ! I recall selling the family homestead at 10 Weybourne Crescent ? in Lawrence Park many years ago and what a delight he was to deal with. That may have been when we first met. I seem also to recall our talking not that long ago, maybe last summer ?? about some properties but in generalities and we hadn't connected after that. You know I'd be happy to help you anytime in the real estate world. Meanwhile having learned of your Dad's passing I wanted to contact you to let you and your family know I was thinking of you at this sad time. Sincerely, Sheila Gallagher Chestnut Park Real Estate Ltd www.sheilagallagher.com

I am sorry I could not be there to pay my respects to Bert. I first met him in 1964 when I joined the staff of the then Toronto Home Builders' Association. I will always remember his kindness to the new staff member and the guidence he offered when we started the Toronto Apartment Guide publication. Many a committee meeting was held in his old offices on - was it Mt. Pleasant or Bayview -just south of Eglinton. When I retired from the Association after 37 years as Director - Operations and Special Events I never forgot the debt I owned to members like Bert who helped me kick start my career with their willingness to share their experience and guidence. Thanks Bert and Cheers!

To the Grant family Margaret and I send our heartfelt sympathy to you and yours on the death of your loved one. There is no doubt that he was a gentle man but above all else, he was a gentleman. Many words could be used to describe Bert but the one that sticks out in our vocabulary is CLASS! It was our good fortune to know him as a business partner and subsequently as a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every member of the Grant family as you mourn the passing of this great human being. Love Margaret and Bill Atkinson

In Deepest Sympathy: I want to express my sympathies at the passing of Mr. Bert Grant. I visited Bert in his Bayview Ave. condo a couple of years ago and we reminisced about the business dealings and friendship of the Grant and McClintock families from the l920's. I first met Mr Bert Grant Sr. in 1929 when my father Tommy McClintock built a home for Bert Sr.'s father-in-law, Mr Inward, on Donlands Avenue. Bert Jr. was a young lad at the time and the family were living on Woodycrest Avenue. The McClintock's had a great deal of respect for the Grants, personally and as businessmen. Respectfully, Jim McClintock (95 years old)

As my boss Mr. Grant was kind, and considerate and always had time to stop for a chat and a smile. There wasn't anything we wouldn't do for him out of utmost respect and most of all love for the man. He treated us not as his employees, but part of his family. Through my 19 years with the company, I have witnessed time and time again the admiration people felt for Mr. Grant and he was truly adored by so many. If there is one word to describe Mr. Grant it would be - Class. I will truly miss my boss, but most of all my friend. I loved him.
