Wayne,
I remember the day you met Danielle, it was in the Painchauds' backyard on the long weekend of May 24th '68. The following year, I shared an appartment in Toronto with Danielle and closest friend Danielle Fortier. I have many good memories of those years.
Our pathes parted four/five years later but, Danielle and you have been in my thoughts on a regular basis over the years.
My most sincere condolences to you, your family and the Painchaud family.

Dear Wayne, I just learned today of Danielle's passing from a notice posted at the Y. I met her a couple of times years ago, but didn't know her. But I did know how devoted you were to her, and I am so sorry for your loss. I wish you and your family courage and strength, and hope to see you -- perhaps at the Y -- some time in the future. Pat

My good friend Wayne...I was so saddened and shocked to learn that Danielle had died. These were supposed to be the good and golden years and they are taken from you. It is my hope that the support of family and friends and the memories of the good times will bring you comfort in these tough times and that the future will give you renewed strength for better things ahead.....Joe

Dear Wayne - please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I won't pretend to know what your are feeling, grief is unique to each of us. I can only promise, based on my own loss of a spouse, that you will come out the far end. Unfortunately it takes a lot of time and pain. For me, talking helped. If there is anything I can do, please call or email. 613-831-1231

My condolences to the Burtnyk Family Although my relationship with Danielle began as a student of the French language, I considered her a valued friend. Her wonderful personality and tremendous patience made the difference in my success in achieving required levels for my position. She was well respected by me and all of my colleagues. She will be fondly remembered until we meet again.

Dear Danielle, my heart broke when I heard that you had died. I didn't know that you had been fighting cancer. In fact I happily assumed you were having a great life and continuing to be the wonderful person that I knew. Our few years together in Industry Canada were very special for me. You were teaching me to speak French and I was learning so much more. Our weekly get-together was always a pleasure. We enjoyed a great rapport. Your joy in life inspired all and your "wicked" sense of humour was delightful. What a special person you were. I send my deepest sympathies to your family who will miss you terribly. It is so sad that you are gone. Au revoir. Veronica

Wayne, Kathy and I send you and your family our deepest sympathies. We knew you and Danielle at the downtown Toronto YMCA where you,Danielle and we took fitness classes together for perhaps as long as 20 years. We often discussed matters of common interest such as retirement, the marriage of children and the happy arrival of grandchildren. When you feel ready, please come back to the Y where your many acquaintances will welcome you with open arms. Of course, there will always be an irreplaceable void - the absence of Danielle. We want to extend our deepest sympathies. It never seems fair when those we love so much die. She was so well liked and everyone always had such kind things to say about her. Words are inadequate at a time like this ... just know you are supported by many.
