My memories of your Mom were love, kindness, generosity and always there for me. I know your Dad will be waiting to welcome Olive home. Our Julie will be there to greet her too. I will be home in the middle of May and would love to have a visit with all the Chesney girls. Please be in touch and I will make it happen. love, Helen

Brenda & Ted So sorry to hear about your mother's passing. My mother also died at age 92 (last year). Sherry Saunders, who now also lives in the Ottawa Valley, forwarded the obituary to me. We have the same optometrist in Pembroke so I run into her occasionally. Hope you are doing well and deepest sympathy at the loss of your Mother. Arda - a voice from the very distant past.

To all the Chesney girls, I'm so sorry to learn about Lee's passing. And yet, I also feel that she has finally been released, and gone to a much better place. Lee was a lady, through and through. The most devoted wife and mother I've ever known, and someone who personified kindness. Her loyalty to her family was remarkable, and though she may have appeared demure and delicate Lee had the strength of tempered steel. Inner strength. And just enough impishness to make her irresistible! Her life was about love, duty, kindness and service to others. These are my recollections and memories of your wonderful mother. Aren't you fortunate to have had - to have in your veins - a woman of her caliber as a mom, a teacher, a confidant, a friend and a role model? This verse was sent to me almost 3 decades ago when my father died, and it still gives me peace: A ship sails and I stand watching till it fades on the horizon. Someone at my side says "She is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large as when I saw her. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, She is gone, there are others who are watching her coming and other voices take up the glad shout - "There she comes!" And that is dying. I've no doubt that Ken Sr and Ken Jr were both waiting for your mom, and were indeed glad to enfold her in their arms. My thoughts will be with you girls and your families on Saturday. Love, Suzie
