Dear Charlie and Wildgoose family Brother Randy sent me the announcement of Norma's passing. I was so very sad to learn of it. Although my family and I have been in the US (Florida and Houston) since 1990, prior to that I used to see Norma at Fashion Group meetings in Toronto and we loved to talk about fun times in Applewood and her friendship and career similarities with my Mom. For anyone in the fashion industry to hold a position as prestigious as the one Norma had at Yorkdale for 26 years - is almost unheard of. She was so talented, beautiful and admired by so many in the business. Growing up in Applewood, I felt like my family consisted of the Langs, Wildgeese and Hardy's (plus cousin Charlie of course). What a wonderful childhood. So glad Norma outlived all the rest - wish I could have seen her more in recent years. My love and heart goes out to you all at this time. I will miss Auntie Norma. Some of my wonderful memories include - Christmas days and Auntie Norma lighting the Christmas pudding - her visits to the cottage in Sundridge - staying at her home to study so I would have some extra quiet time - attending fashion shows at Yorkdale - as a child, trying on her fancy clothes and high heels and makeup Auntie Norma always treated me as if I was the most special person in the world and that was very important to a young girl growing up. I try to do the same for my grandchildren.
