I remember John always laughing or chcukling to himself, he had a great sense of humor. One day he was in Naples, Florida with Caroline. Caroline was still just a baby, he was doting on her, feeding her at the restaurant. Caroline was connecting with all the other toddlers in their strollers and John was pushing her around like a proud Papa.We had a great lunch that day!
John was always interested in what you were doing. He was patient and loving.
He loved all his little girls.
We all miss him
Love Heidi

It is a rare person, and a treasure to cross paths with an individual whom treats everyone as equal, always had time for a chat and left you feeling the time together was too short. The infectious laugh, the always present smile, the stories and the inquisitive nature are some of my fondest memories of such a wonderful human being. John is a man who has touched many and will live on in the fond memories of those who have had the pleasure of spending time with him. My sincere condolences, Kris Ramey

We were saddened when we heard the news of John's passing. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all. My most favourite memory of John was a visual one from many years back when John was styling his brown leather bomber jacket looking genuinely 'cool' with a warm infectious spirit within.

So sorry to learn of John's passing. I worked with John in the 70's and 80's and during the 90's we would see him at the Heights of Horseshoe. After we moved to Horseshoe Valley in 1999 and John was living here as well, we would encounter John at times and would always chat for a few minutes, catching up on people we both knew. I saw John just before Christmas in Orillia and we had our usual chat. I'll miss those chats. Our sympathies to the Family. Ralph & Sandy Price

Dear Julie & Family, very saddened for your loss. I expect that you will see an outpouring of support from those who knew and loved John and were impacted by his zest for life and ability to make you laugh just by laughing himself. As a young and impressionable person starting my first professional job at Horseshoe Resort I had the pleasure to cross paths with John and from that point onwards he always took a genuine interest and did everything he could to support making the resort and community better. He didn't have to do this, or treat me in the supportive way he did - but that was John's style - and I will remember him that way and am thankful of the impact he made on me.

Julie and Family
It's with a heavy heart I write these words.
Without John the void will be enormous in your family, in the lives of his friends and the Horseshoe Valley Community. We are forever changed with his passing.
May we never stop hearing his infectious laugh echoing in our heads and hold his compassion in our hearts. A kinder person would be hard to find.
Julie,I have learned many life lessons from John in the 20+ years we have been friends. This lesson would be to lend an ear when you want to talk, give you a hug when you are hurting and quiet time when you need it.

Ten years ago I walked into John's office. Bright eyed and green to the resort and ski industry.
I remember walking into his office and how nervous I was at the time, his aura demanded respect.
I remember his advice, his humor, and his honesty. Over the past ten years I consider myself lucky to have been able to interact both personally and professionally with him over the years. I look fondly back on many of those memories and in reflection I can tell you that his advice was at times crucial to me both professionally and personally. He was the most honorable man I have ever met, and he will be dearly missed.
John I will always keep the "JB Button" lit.
