I admired Uncle Charles in many ways. He was kind. He was generous. And, he always respected the art of conversation. Perhaps, our most common bond was our appreciation and affinity for the automobile. From the days when I collected model cars as a boy to our talks about the subject as an adult, the automobile had always made for an engaging conversation. The dizzying array of models. Its history. The automobile's impact on society. I will miss those conversations with Uncle Charles. And, I am deeply saddened by his passing. Glenn Tilley St. John's, NL

I was very saddened to hear of Charles' passing. I have many fond memories of him. I was so pleased he could come to St. John's for a visit with us in 2006. My late husband, Edwin (Beth's brother) and I were fortunate over the years to have taken some vacations with Charles and Beth. They are memories I cherish dearly. I will miss our telephone chats a lot. Sincerely, Florence Tilley St. John's, NL
