RIGHTON, Rupert Frederick Q.C. Born on July 27, 1929 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. Died peacefully after a short stay at The Gibson Long Term Care Centre on Friday, January 24, 2014. Rupert lived a life of courage and determination, and one that was filled with accomplishment. Dearly loved husband of Sheila Margaret (nee Rogers) for 47 years. Inspirational father to Judith Caroline. Dear brother of William (Eileen), Kathleen Lamothe (the late Carroll), Margaret (Robert Shea) and Joan Marg Sloan. Predeceased by his first wife, Helen Smith and brother Keith (Beverly). Respected and admired by many nieces and nephews and their families. Rupert was a founding partner of Shibley, Righton LLP. He was a gentleman and a scholar. Rupert was a life long lover of all things related to aviation. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing in the Arctic, hunting in rural Quebec with dear friends, and his time spent at the family cottage on Lake Sesekinika in Northern Ontario. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday January 29. A service will be held in CHRIST CHURCH DEER PARK, 1570 Yonge Street, Toronto on Thursday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. Cremation to follow. The family would like to thank Shanesia for greatly enhancing the quality of Rupert's life with her exceptional care and friendship.
