What a great life what an incredible smile what an incredible influence on I'm sure anyone who came into contact with him through family professional sports. I can't tell you how often I think about Hank. My name is John Larkin. I played football for Hank and I should say I had the pleasure of playing football for coach from 1979 281 then I moved to New York to play and I came back again and played with him and eighty two or three I believe. In that year I came to visit Toronto to play he made me feel like the king of the team he did all he could to have teammates put me up I was a pain in the butt but I played my heart out for him and he took care of me so well. Whenever he would take the time just coach me specially or whenever I would stop talking and allow him to. I never played better. I'll never forget the time he took me to go see New Market play coach me through watching the game and then we played them the following weekend and I had one of the best games of My Life. I wish I had come into contact with him when I was 12 years old he would have made a great deal of difference in life. I found him to be a very personal man and I never got a chance to really know about his family or meet people from his family occasionally at games. Again I like to say no finer man have I ever met or had the privilege I'm sharing some of my life and having him share some of his life with me I was number 42 and I was the little white guy who played middle linebacker who thought he was six foot four. I see his face in my dreams and in my thoughts all the time I can actually see him looking at me his disciplinary action was so light and so soft I probably needed it harder. But he would look at me turn his head sideways slap his hands together and say G John come on it's one of those things I'm 58 now and I always knew that he has probably passed on again sorry to be so late but just to let you know I'm sure I'm one of many players that he coached who think of him a lot

We were so very sorry to hear of Hanks passing. I have great memories of my 10 years with the Jets and the tremendous influence Hank was as a coach and as a man. He always instilled the desire to do ones very best under any conditions or against any odds. I learned a great deal about Football and a great deal about life. I will always fondly remember gathering on Forman Av after games and playing poker until late into the night and sometimes the next morning. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Georgie, Lisa, Julie, Jason and their families.

I was a young boy, attending Holy Rosary School, located across the field from St. Michaels College, in the early '50s. After school I would go and watch the undefined Senior football team practice. They had a good team, coached by Cam McLellan. Gary Schrieder, later to star for the Ottawa Roughriders, was their marquee player. One other player caught my eye. He wore number 75, and played offensive end. The only black player on the squad, he had good hands, size, and speed. I went to all their home games that year. With Schrieder running the ball, they didn't pass thta much. When they did, number 75 was the primary receiver. Fond memories, of a time long ago. My sincere condolences.
