Obituary of Richard Foss

FOSS, Richard Carmichael (Dick) Died peacefully surrounded by his family at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, on Thursday, October 9th at the age of 85. He is sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Cecily, his children Lindsay (Bill) and Rick (Ghislaine), his grandchildren Michael, Tim, David, Lauren, Jordan, Ilana and Arianne. Dick was a flight engineer with the RCAF, Group 6, Squadron 434 (Bluenose) stationed in England during WWII. After the war he graduated from McGill University in Montreal and worked for Alcan, spending years in India, Japan and Montreal. In 1969 he transferred to the Department of Regional and Economic Expansion with the federal government where he worked until retirement. Our family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Critical Care Unit of Sunnybrook Hospital for their caring attention to Dick and our family during his final days. At his request, a private family memorial will be held. If desired, donations may be made to the Lung Association or Sunnybrook Foundation.
