Obituary of Alexander Luettichau

LUETTICHAU, Alexander, 88, died at his home at the Bradgate Arms on September 17, 2008. He was born in Bern, Switzerland, and grew up in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. During World War II he served in the antiaircraft division of the German Air Force in France and Italy. After the war, he worked for the US Army Claims Office in Munich, Germany, before emigrating to Argentina in 1947 and to Canada in 1954. He worked for many years as a travel agent in Toronto, first with OK Johnson and Lehner Travel, then with Beckmann Travel from 1971 until his retirement to the Bradgate in 1998. He is survived by his sister, Vita Hohenlohe, of Vienna, Austria, and his sister-in-law, Ann von Luttichau, of Washington, D.C. A Memorial Mass will be held in HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 354 St. Clair Avenue West at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 18. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
