Obituary of Timothy Chisholm

CHISHOLM, Timothy Angus (1936-2008) Tim passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his beloved island in Muskoka on September 1, 2008. Son of the late Ronald A. Chisholm and Earla White. Tim is survived by his brothers Ronald and Peter of Toronto, sister-in-law Barbara, nieces and nephews with their respective families, Stephen (Toronto), Andrew (New York), Barbara (Peterborough), David (London, England), Sarah (Memphis). Tim will be remembered fondly by many who enjoyed his inimitable style and ebullience, as well as his deep generosity and friendship throughout his life and career. His was a life lived in full.Tim was born in Toronto and educated at Upper Canada College before joining his father's commodity merchants firm Ronald A. Chisholm Limited. He became President on his father's death in 1968. Throughout the ensuing 27 years, Tim was the propelling force that guided the company to its respected position of influence in the meat and dairy industries in Canada and around the globe. Since 1995, Tim continued to provide wise counsel and support to the firm's management and many employees while serving the company as non-executive Chairman.The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A. W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9. Funeral service at 11 o'clock on Wednesday, September 10 at ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH YORK MILLS, 19 Don Ridge Drive. Reception to follow.
