Help Us Bring Dignity To End Of Life Care

The Challenge: End of Life Support

Fewer than 1 in 10 Canadians facing life-threatening illness receive adequate end-of-life care.

Toronto has a serious shortage of residential, hospice-palliative care beds. Research has shown that 6 residential hospice beds will support 100,000 individuals. As of 2018, Toronto has 20 adult, residential hospice beds for a population of 2,800,000.

The Solution: A New Hospice

A new Residential Hospice will be located conveniently on the West Park Healthcare Centre Campus.

A two floor, 25,000 sq. ft. space with 10 hospice residential beds will offer extensive services and supports for patients and their families.

The Hospice will integrate academic knowledge into clinical setting in advancing hospice palliative care.

The state-of-art facility will offer:

  • A home-like environment
  • Expert care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Home visiting hospice services
  • A range of educational and counseling programmes

Making The Dream A Reality

The goal is to raise $10M to build the residential hospice on the new West Park Healthcare Campus.

The Hospice will serve Toronto by assisting individuals with a life-limiting illness to live fully to the end of their life with dignity, compassion and comfort. It will be inclusive and will embrace all cultures, faiths and age groups.
